History on Ferrari
Ferrari is an Itallian sports car manufacturer that is bases in Maranello. The brand was founded in 1929 by Enzo Ferrari who was an Italian race driver and also an entrepreneur. Ferrari was first known as Scuderia Ferrari. The company was into the sponsoring business and manufacturing race cars. They then decided to move into the production of road legal vehicles. The brand has had good success and fortunes in the world of Formula One racing.
Enzo was wanting to keep the business as a manufacturer of just racing vehicles and also the sponsorship of many of the racing drivers. Enzo Ferrari was a wanted man in the racing business, Alfa Romeo cars hired him to race various drivers in the Alfa Romeo branded cars until 1938 as the head of the motor racing department.
The first ever Ferrari road legal car was the 1947 125 S which was powered by a 1.5l V12 engine. Enzo reluctantly built and sold the cars to fund the Scuderia Ferrari racing team brand. 1988 was the year that Enzo oversaw the launch of the Ferrari F40. The F40 was the last car Enzo Ferrari saw before his death. The F40 became one of the most famous supercar ever made.
2002 to 2004 Ferrari introduced the Enzo which became the fastest model of the time. This was in honour of Enzo Ferrari. £1.1 Million was the price tag for this supercar.
