Redline road test: Porsche Carrera GT with Mr JWW

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to drive the legendary Porsche Carrera GT, YouTube star Mr JWW will take you one step closer to experiencing the real thing.

“They say you shouldn’t meet your heroes….”

Porsche Carrera GT

Porsche produced 1270 Carrera GTs between 2003 – 2007. In an era which saw the dawn of the hypercar, Porsche too decided to develop a halo car for its VIP customers that showcased their design, innovation and technical abilities. Armed with a spare V10 powerplant developed for F1/ LMP1, they designed a car that has since become iconic for its purity of purpose.

“I’d go for one of these over an Enzo every single day.”

Mr JWW has been considering adding a Carrera GT to his collection for a while, so we invited him to come and drive our car and it is fantastic to see his enthusiasm and appreciation for one of his automotive heroes. 400 Kg lighter than the Porsche 918 that it spawned, the CGT came in manual-only guise with and for Mr JWW, that’s what really sets it apart from the hypercars of today. That and the noise of its howling V10.
