The Art of Zagato
Zagato is an independent coachbuilder and designer who has been making cars look beautiful and more unique since the 1920s using principles from the world of aeronautics.
Zagato has since worked with manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, BMW, Lancia and Alfa Romeo as well as with their customers to create some of the most unique, elegant and unusual cars imaginable. Features such as the “double bubble” roof (originally conceived to allow room for helmets in race cars), the muscular, angled rear wheel arches and distinctively styled rear are all trademark Zagato features.
Their cars are made for a tiny number of clients, and you would be lucky to see on the road – let alone close up – so we took the opportunity to get some close-up shots of a visiting Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante while we had the chance.
